A sunny Saturday morning.
Something that I love doing is mucking out the goats on a clear and sunny day with that lovely smell of goat manure :P
Mark (my younger brother) was pretending to be a tractor as we piled the old hay and straw into the wheelbarrow.
As we worked, the sun shone warmly on our faces. It was such a lovely morning.
It is such a privilege to be able to help Mum out with the goats. I can do it whenever I want.
I’ve heard that some schools pay hundreds of pounds to send students out on special trips where they can play with the animals and muck them out. I have all this in my garden and enjoy the responsibility and character skills I can learn.
Pushing the wheelbarrow up the hill, to the compost heap is not as easy as it looks.
By the summer we should have some lovely compost for our vegetable garden, but we find the weeds generally benefit from it more than the vegetables!! ;)
Each morning and evening we milk the mummy goat, Daisy, and collect the eggs from our 17 hens.
Some days Kirsty brings her rabbit into her bedroom to have a run around and I usually have one of our cats sleeping on my bed at night.
There is something very special about having animals around, and the joys of life that they bring.
Animals are great friends to have.
I love to surround myself in God’s creation.
